I know how you feel. Originally I had250 pictures in the 3 days the camera was out there and Iwent through each one to delete just pictures of the ground. This is what I meant about slow snap shot.


All in all the camera did it's job. I just want to know what's around and if I need to spend $200-$400 to show me a clear picture that then I need glasses.

I have one of their 3.0's and it takes descent pic's but the flash is only good for about 15' and the area I was trying to cover, it just was not working out. I replaced it with a D-40 and have had better luck with the flash about 25'. As for the quality, your 1.8 takes better pic's than the 3.0, however I still use it, I just put it in a place that didn't need as much flash.....Congrats on the camera and all the pic's....

More pictures uploaded from the 10th -12th. I discovered 2 velvets and multiple gobblers. I also discovered that uploaded on photobucket shrinks the pixels which makes my pictures worse then they really are. O'well

i think your camera takes good pics , unless your going to print your pics and hang them on the wall that camera will work fine to see what you have passing throught your woods,
i think if you work on your camera angles a bit you will get some great pics, i tried all kinds of angles i like mine best at knee hight facing down a trail about 5 ft off to the side, but find what works for you ,also another perk i found by putting the camera low is you get smaller animals like coons, opossums, rabbit, fox, ext,

How's it going DR KILL? I agree on the angle 100%. As of now the camera is on my feeder set @ 4ft. tilted slightly down. I realize I'm cutting off on yardage and what's directly below (hence alot of backsides). There's no other trees but the wood line that surrounds the feeder which is 60 yds away. Actually I have the feeder straped up to a HUGE!! tree for added support. More then likely I'll purchase a camera support like the AT-5 or Trail Pod tree mount.

I through a salt block out to see if it attracts. The little buck loves it and it seems to rub off on the does. I also have an homemade brew on the ground that they seem to attract to. It's on the right side of the block. Here's the rescipe.

This makes 5 gallons-
5 Gallon bucket
Boil about 3 gallons of water - Boiling water will dissolve more of the ingredients
6 lbs Iodized salt
2 cups Baking Soda (1 lb box)
1.5 Cups Baking Powder (10 oz. can)
18 oz. Molasses (1 bottle)
Potassium Gluconate (20 - 500mg Tablets) 1 bottle
Magnesium (10 - 250mg Tablets) 1 bottle

Add more water to fill the bucket (about another 2 gallons)

Clear about a 2ft. patch of ground - minor dirt disturbance to aid absorption.
Slow Siphon the concoction into the disturbed earth (Air Line for Fish Aquariums works great!). Slow siphoning allows deeper penetration and keeps the liquid more concentrated in the desired area. As the liquid cools some of the ingredients may precipitate out of solution - not a problem - pour that stuff right on top of the wet soil.
