Sounds great! Thanks. There may be some changes in 2009 but not sure if it will involve upping the gb. As soon as I know, you all will know :)

To be honest 2GB isnt so bad. 2000mb. My night video at 30secs average 10-11 mb each I like to set the intervals atleast 1-3 minutes apart or longer not to waste pics on the same thing....... Pics are less mb.......

I couldnt image anyone needing anymore then a 2GB card...

Lets say you have your videos set to 30sec length @ 10mb each in Joes situation, 2048mb/10mb would be 204 videos!
Most of the time even a 20 sec video is overkill so you could figure on even more then that

One of my two SG550's are out monitoring, I cannot wait to check it in a few weeks:)

Hey Joe, fancy seeing you here ! It's been a good while since I've been in these particular forums, but I thought I'd chime in that I'm still loving BOTH of my SG's even without doing the update.

Here are a bunch of videos of what I got on my SG550 the first time I put it out. Not sure why the bears like to play with it so much, but it seemed to have held up to the paws and snouts...

I you handle any bait or food prior to the camera setup you will be asking for problems with the bears. Do all your work with the camera and then set out the bait . Next time you may not be that lucky.

I have been using my ScoutGuard for about two months. Rain has not been a problem. The camera is small, easier to conceal, and simple to set up and use.Photos are acceptable and trigger seems reasonably fast. I like this little camera.

Was just talking to the Canadian Rep for these Cams , he tells me there is a new cam out in the new year built by the same company that builds Scout Guard cams.
1) It will have a viewer built in to the remote
2) Run on 2 AAs
3) Up to 8 Meg cards
4) More IR LEDs so up to 50 ' pics and videos.
5) Software will include moon phase

Prototypes will be tested very soon.

I lost password to my account here and forgot about my email pswd all together. But thisthreadurged meto register a new IDand reply:)

Run on 2 AA batteries? How is that possible? What about battery life?

It reminded me of what Predator promised in Cabelas catalog. Here is a thread on the topic

I hope the canadian rep you talked to can deliver all the claimed new features. That'll be super super NICE!

Also, who will test the prototype?[:-]
