Last year my brother and I checked them every week and I think it hurt my brothers chances on a few P&Y bucks. It seemed the more we checked them the less pics we would get of the nice P&Y bucks we were getting earlier when we were only checking them every 2 weeks. This fall were going to try and hold back and check them every 2 weeks. Like Early said in a different thread its like a kid going to the candy store, you just can't wait to see whats on the camera and your patience gets the best of ya!!!

I keep my moultrie over a bait/mineral pile all year round and check it once a week. There used to the flash and people in the area by now so it doesnt really bother them. I usually move my stealth around every couple weeks to get pictures in new areas. So i guess its not like im venturing into the woods and disturbing the deer every week.

out here we checked ours about once every two weeks...for our skiddish deer that was a bit too much...so this year we are thinking to leave them up for a month then check them......cannot put enough emphasis on keeping you as scent free as possible putting up cams and taking down..atleast IMO out here it makes a huge difference...

I used to check mine every weekend, but this year I only check them every other weekend, and sometimes I dont get out there to check them for 3 weeks. I am thinking about pulling them out, and letting my spot sit for the rest of the summer without any intrusion.

I check mine every 2 weeks because the suspense just kills me.If I notice less pictures or sign in the area I will install new batteries and come back in a month.

I voted every 2 weeks but I will check more frequent at times so I don't fill up my memory card.

I just bought a farm in Illinois and want to put cameras on it. Living in Georgia, I obviously can't check my cameras very often. I have checked out the SmartScouter camera and it looks like the answer to my problem. It takes images and sends them by cell phone signal to a server on the internet where you can view them. It will send images instantly or every 2, 4, 6, 12, or 24 hours. With the additional battery, it will run for 6 months before you have to go to the camera. The camera retails for $650 and the monthly fee for the phone line and web server averages $25 to $30. Not for everyone, but it works for me.

Last year I started out with one cam and checked it every three or four days. Mine are strictly for trail useage, so I wanted a good area survey of what was happening and where, so I was constantly moving It.I have added more cams this year, and will rotate visits and stay out ofeach particular area for a longer period of time. I practice as much scent control as if I were actually hunting, and I think it helps some, although there is always somedisturbance, I am sure.

i agree on the scent free idea. however i hunt on public land where there are no food plots or feeders. so i have to go in and move camera's around to stay on the deer. i can't afford to leave a camera up in a spot for a month with no activity. so i go in every other week and check them and move camera's if need be.

well i got out and checked mine. no bucks yet but i was very impressed with the amount of doe activity. where there's doe's, there's bucks;).

every doe i have a picture of is either pregnant or has fawns with her. so far i do not have any night pic's, all the activity is in the middle of the day when our temp.'s are between 90 degrees and 104 degrees.

i check mine approx. once every three weeks. between the batteries going dead, and the anticipation of wanting to see what is on it, i can't wait any longer then that.

I check mine every weekend right now. I like to move them alot til I kinda see what I have out there and where the most activity is so I can set up stands accordingly. As season gets closer I'll start every 2 weeks and really try to conceal my scent when I do.

Once a month or longer. Too much intrusion in an area will decrease your chances of taking a nice buck without question.

RE: How often do you check your trail camera's?

I typically set my camera's up on a corn pile or a mineral block so I usually get a lot of pictures, therefore I check them every week or so! Seems to work out okay for me. For the most part, the majority of the pictures I get usually occur after sunset as the temperatures begin to drop and the deer are a little more active. Very few, especially in the early summer months, are taken during daytime hours!

Every week or 2x a week on top of a corn pile. 100 lbs of corn will be need to be replenish in a active area within 2-4 days, so I just check my cameras too.

Anywhere from 3 to 5 weeks. On my Moultrie's, battery life isn't an issue but that is about how long it takes to fill up a memory card. I voted Once a Month.

About once every 6 weeks when I refill the 2000 pound protein feeder.
