Anyone ever use stealth cam
I am considering buying my first IR Cam I really like the moultrie I40 but the local sporting goods store has a couple clearance stealth cam IR's for half the price just wondering if they are decent or not.

I dont know about steath, but I've had an I40 for about a month now and I can pretty much promise that you will be happy with it. They are well worth the price.

RE: Anyone ever use stealth cam
Do you like buying batteries? I own a stealth I-450 (with a back up rechargable battery) and a moultrie m-40 and I use twice the amount of batteries in the stealth than I do in the Moultrie.
An example: I put out my camera's a month ago, I checked them this last week and the Stealth died within 2 weeks and the Moultrie had 83% battery available. The Moultrie had 200 + pictures on it (mostly at night) and the Stealth had less than 100. I had to send the Stealth back to the factory because it would not take pictures after sitting for a while, they replaced it no problem. The only issue that I have with my moultrie is that I get a ton of black outs at night like the flash is not going off. I need to update the software to make sure that is not the issue but, I learned my lesson when it comes to buying camera's Stick with what has always worked for you. I would love to get my hads on a Moultrie 3.1 (the older models) |

RE: Anyone ever use stealth cam
I have never owned a Moultrie, but the Stealth Camera I have works pretty good. I use the 12 volt battery system and they last for about three months. The only thing I don't like about the Stealth is during the extreme cold it likes to freeze up.

RE: Anyone ever use stealth cam
I have a stealth cam thats 3 yeras old now and i loved it, the only problem was that the batteries (AA) were dead in a night cuz of all the pictures which were only like 80 a night or so... Also the time to tkae the picture after the deer walks by it is to slow, the pictures do come clear though..

RE: Anyone ever use stealth cam
if you can stomach paying for the i40 - then do it. Your 'cost of ownership' :) will be higher with the stealth. I have 2 stealth i450's and i'm happy with them, but I definitely wish I had spent the money on moultries.
