i don't have the i450, but i have lots of experience with stealth...two i350's and many of their 35mm models...they make a great product, IMO...having had so many cams from them i can say that i have not had any real issues...the digitals take some practice with to ensure good quality pics...read the manual, bring it with you when you set up the cam and use the test features (if you get it)

i also highly recommend the external battery....supper usefull...i will get 30 days or more out of my battery...my i350's use the 6volt battery

The i450 is a good cam for the money.
They take excellent pictures, but they do have whiteout issues, and eat batteries like mad.
Almost a must to have the 12v stealth external battery setup.

i have two of the i450's. i was very happy with them last year until i bought a moultrie i40 and i60. the i450 blew everything away (for the money), until I got the i40. they'll get you for a little more up front but in the long run you'll save money, and the hassle of dealing w/ those big 12v sla batteries.

The only real beef i have w/ the i450 is the number of whiteouts. it's about 1 in every 10 flash pictures for me. that's too much.

i'll be selling my i450's this year.

I know you folks are talking about the I450. I almost bought this camera but it was out of staock at the time and ended up buying the Moultrie IR40. I have to say I am really really pleased with picture quality and battery life is great. Did have a white out issue when I first got the camera but moultrie offered and upgrade online that I could download straight to the camera without the hassles of sending back. Plus the camera runs around 219 so if you buy and I450 plus 12 volt kit you won't be real far away from this camera. Well hoped I helped someone with this.

I have three I450's--Ditto what everybody else said....very poor battery life with C cell batteries.....good pictures with some white outs usually early AM...camera can't decide to flash or not.

Need to keep it in shady areas if possible and you will need the 12 volt batteries...and be careful the 12 volt battery case can take on water...I use a ammo box with a lid gasket to hold the 12 volt batteries...drill a hole for the wire and seal with marine sealant.

Oh, and you will need to purchase a 4 wheeler to haul in three cameras, three 12 volt batteries and three ammo boxes add about $6,000.

Angry Stc 1450

[Bought 2 New STC 1450 cameras in March 2010 from Retail Store. One worked OK The other malfunctioned right out of the box. Contacted MFG who suggested several test to perform over next 30 days on malfunctioning camera. It seemed to drain batteries within a week. After test completed still drained batteries within a week and even with new batteries low battery light stayed on. (it took less than 20 pictures in the week it took to drain batteries) Contacted mfg second time. They said it was still under warranty and to ship it back. They gave instructions and shipping numbers. Shipped back at my cost. Several weeks later received letter from Mfg. Called them. They said camera was manufactured in 2009 and would not support warrenty. Now out of cost of camera, shipping cost, and no camera. They kept it. Due to their lack of warranty support I would not recommend this camera. Have heard of simular lack of support from other hunting friends with this model camera.

Thanks![/quote]
