Hey 8pt, what are you using for batteries? I just got one, and after 7 days and 200 pics, my batteries were down to 55%. I thought that they were supose to last for up to 60 days. It was between 5 degrees, and 20 degrees out durring the week. I know that the cold will make a difference, but I didnt think it would be that much.

I'm using "Rayovac's alkaline batteries".It lasted about 50 days in cold weather. (10 degrees):D

I think it may last even longer inwarmer weather.;)

1. Cold will have an effect on battery life.

2. If you have the cam on high resolution, expect to drain more power from the batteries.

3.Rayovac, have been rated the best batteries for trailcam useage,
They out last the others.

i put duracells in my moultrie two years ago, got 30,000 pictures and it still has 60% of it's battery life left. moultries rule.

for a young guy stealth cams i think are good.....if you want digital then stealth cam with external battery.....sometimes i think have more cams for some is better then quality of one.....i hunt lots of public land areas and would rather have more eyes out then just a few so i use a lot of the 35mm cams...batteries last 3 weeks or so and the cameras and pics are usually great....on occasion the night photos can be somewhat blurry, but you can still see which way the deer is going, size, time, etc...so besides clearity the purpose of the cam is met.

Friends don't let friends buy Cuddebacks.

I would definitely go with the Moultrie D40. I have two and haven't had any problems with them. You can pick these up for under $100 each. They have been rated best camera for the price.

You may want to check out the web-site below. They have done some pretty good testing on all commercial game cameras.
