How to get good pics of turkeys

Just wondering on how you guys get pics on turkeys with your trail cams? I've heard use a wheat pile, and they'll tear it up. Seems that would be a lot better than just sitting it out in a corner of a field or something.

Make sure you have the camera lowered on the tree if you want to get pics of turkeys. That's what I do in the spring.

for me it's more about 'how to not get pictures of turkeys'.[:-]

seriously...the best turkey pictures I've gotten have been on narrow clearings near feeders. That way you get more natural pictures then a feeder surrounded by 30 turkeys. by far my best tom pics came that way.

Ive only ever got 1 tom and he was walking down a logging road. I usually get a few young ones in the summer, but i have really bad luck getting gobblers in the spring. I have a strut zone that im going to put a cam in this year though.

i spread corn in a 10 ft circle and they come in like crazy , i set the cam to about 3 ft off the ground , at night i get coons and deer and during the day flocks of turkey , there is no feeder so you dont get that theres another feeder pic, as a matter of fact you cant even see the corn in half the pics i got of turkeys, i would share the pics with you but i use the same sims card and have deleted the pics since then ,

later in the spring the edge of a green field with some corn for the hens will bring the strutting toms into picture range in full strut , hope this helps

Best way is to find one of their trails that they us just about every day and set your camera low or watch them feeding on nuts or seeds . Here are some from last year . Also got some vidios withthem on their winter trails .
