Trail Camera Placement?

this is my land...the big wooded area:D but the field south is wheat field this year and it will be a bean field next year( i dunno if that will affect deer movement or not) there is alot of deer movement in there...i can not find a main trail to set up my camera on ( it is a moultrie D40 by the way) that is why i am asking for your help. i no trail cameras are advanced but they cant take 100 yard by 100 yard pictures![8D] there was a monster buck spotted in the southeast corner of our land. we had no idea he was in there so we are gunna scout him this year:D just any imput would help...here is a link to the picture if you need it for some reason http://www.flashearth.com/?lat=40.338758&lon=-94.703097&z=17&r=0&src=ggl ....thanks:)

oh and wherever you guys agree on the most i am going to scout it this weekend for trails. there is enough snow on the ground to see a good trail:D

RE: Trail Camera Placement?

About all I would say is look for a main herd trail and then if you can find a single trail that has large tracks on it , See if you can find trails leading to the beeding areas .If you put the D-40 out rember that if the trail is more that 30 feet away from the camera all you will get is good daytime pictures . If there is no winter feed ing the area the deer will be in there winter yard area or where there is a good food source .
