my carcass cam

No grizzlies, but some decent pics of a pretty nice sized black bear. The battery on my camera ran out before the snow flew here in WI, and when i picked up the camera, there were either coyote or wolf tracks at the site, so i'm a bit disappointed, but still some nice pics. The date and time on the pictures are off, it was set up the last day of the 9 day gun hunt here in WI over the gut pile of my doe and the carcass and legs of my dad's nubby. any guesses on how much it weighs or whether its a boar or a sow? we've seen a bear in the area since the middle of september, and in none of the pics were there any cubs, if it were a sow, would the cubs still be around in september? hope you like em! For reference, the camera is about a foot off the ground and the gut pile is probably about6 or 7 feet away.

I'm thinking its a boar. Looks like its in that 200lb range. If thats a sow and she had cubs while denned up last year, they would still be with her yet. She won't kick them out till the following spring when she comes out of the den and comes into heat. If she is a sow she will have her cubs while she's denned up this winter.I think its a boar though by looking at its short stought blocky lookinghead, possibly could be a bigsow but i dought it.

Nice bear! Toobad about the batteries, wolves would have been a good picture.
