Cudde Expert Problems

I am having a few problems with my expert. I have always had an issue with the batteries staying in place. I would set the camera out for 3 or 4 weeks at a time and come back to find that the camera stayed on for two days then the batteries fell down and stayed turned off the remainder of the time. Talk about being upset, you think spending $400 on a game cam, the last thing you would have to worry about is the batteries not staying in the right place.

Secondly, the dang thing quit writing to the card. I messed with the thing over and over, tried to reformat the card and still can't get it to work. I tried to take it back to Bass Pro, but since it is 14 months old they would not replace it. I guess I am going to have to send it back and get the so called "top notch" camera fixed after 1 year of use.

I like the camera, when it works, I just believe that it should have been better designed and function better for the price. Just my luck, it happens to go down right at the time I need the thing. 2-4 weeks before season starts.

Just wandering if anyone else has had the same problem with it quit writing to the card?

Thanks for the time,

Trent

I sent it off 4 weeks ago and still haven't heard anything other than an email saying they have received it. This is very frustating not to have the camera during this time of year. I guess that is the way it goes, for me anyway.[&:]

B stricker, I didn't know that or I would have asked them to but the other plate on the bottom before they sent it back. I may call and see if they can do that before they ship it off. Thanks for the info.

Just something obvious to think about...make sure that the cam can write to the card. Some cards have a "lock" feature that allows the card to become unwritable. Don't know if yours does or doesn't, but the little things are what I always overlook:).

no problem...i actually just had mine done, they can also download a new software into it that makes it perform better, you never have to wait for the DO NOT REMOVE CARD anymore, its way quicker and the no flash pics are better at night.

You're not alone. I'm just getting into trail cams this year and ordered two new Moultrie D40's that were DOA. "Customer Service" sent two new ones. One of those was DOA!!! You don't want a 75% failure rate with a newbe. I'm gonna' be pissed at Moultrie for a long time! Screwed up my deer season royally.

This may be a silly question, but why do people continue to suggest cuddeback and moultrie game cameras when there are so many problems with them?

I have several friend and even my brother that have bought moultries and had to take them back because they flat won't work. I had a cuddeback that never did work, and when I tried to get them to make it right, I was told that they would not do anything.

I use my cameras more than just before and during deer season, but when I put them in the woods, I expect to get picture and not to have to work on them or have them worked on. I have 2 Camtrakkers that have not failed me in 4 years and well over 100,000 photos.

In game cameras like most everything else, you get what you pay for.

Thanks for that. Being new to trail cams, I'll check into them.
