Whats the name of your deer..that you look forward to hunt?!?!?
After scouting over the weekend I seen the first buck of the year on my smallest but best producing parcel. We seen tons of does and I think our buck to doe ratio is 1b-4d.Yea not too good.Everyone around has been going for the big bucks.Well I got a special buck and a doe for that area picked out for now.I named the buck Texan bacsue he has a big rack but a very very small body.My uncle and I called the doe Dumbo because of her oversized ears!

The buck ive been hunting for the last 4 years has always been named "the big one".....real original i know.
My dad told me a story of a monster buck that ran around my town before i was born, they named it "Bullwinkle". Said he was the the biggest buck anyone had ever seen. Theres a bunch of stories about him but nobody ever killed him, that we know of (and im related to half the town!) |

I have one called "Mike's Buck". He's a 2 1/2 year old spike (about 8 inch spikes!) that has a tumor on the side of his head under his eye. I keep telling my hunting buddy (mike, of course) that I'm saving the buck for him. I have over 50 trail cam pics of this buck since the middle of May. I hope mike shoots it so I don't have to see that ugly thing anymore. very ugly deer.

there are rumors floating around here about a monster buck before i was born... everyone calls him the "pipe-line buck" cuz anytime anyone saw him it was on the pipe line that run through town.... no one ever took him but he's definately dead (i'm 16....) but we're hoping some of his grandkidsare running around... we had a nice 2-3 year old 10 point last year... we'll see how he turns out this year!!

we have one that me and the boys at camp call the "Dangler" We have many cam pics of him and they are almost aways as he is walking away. Thus the camera takes a shot ofhis testes. They like his rack are rather large hence the Danglerhas come to be the most wanted. We also have several other nice bucks and we made a top ten list w/ ther pics on the board kinda likeFBI's most wanted.

Just an update on "the big one". My brother saw a large buck today that he said had a kicker going straight out from his main beam. Putting the trail cams up tommorow for the confirmation!

I don't have any buck pictures yet. We've had about 75 or so night pictures that didn't come out. May be bucks, I like to think so. We are seeing a BIG doe though, I hope to call her "Supper"

Well lets see, over the years, there was the "Brimstone Boss", knew his track because one of his hooves was broken. He had takentwo gunshots and lived, then my high school music teacher shot him in the brisket and still never recovered him, he was never seen again. The buck was huge.
There was "ripped ear", which I did get. A typical 7 on one side and a 6 with a kicker by the browtine on the other. No teeth leftwhen I finally got him. "Resident buck". Born and lives right by the house. Will never kill him. This deer layes on the hill outside by front porch. Watches us open christmas presents. Crazy. Currently, there is "@$$hole". I think he is offspring of ripped ear. Same very wide rack, and same characteristic split browtines. Didn't see him last year. Saw him the year before. And have him on trail cam last month. Super wide, split browtines, just starting on his tines, so I don't know how big he will get. Does nothing by the book. Very smart. I call him @$$hole becauseI think hebeats the holy living crap out of every buck in the area. The deer I have harvested all have serious gashes and puntures and marks, I think it is from him and that wide flipping rack. When I killed ripped ear, he was bleeding profusely from two wounds from fighting, and when I caped him out, hiswholeneck and chest were bruised like I have never seen. I rattled him right in. I always thought, that was the day his son dethroned him. |
RE: Whats the name of your deer..that you look forward to hunt?!?!?
There are a few...
Ol' Ripped Ear- a wide racked 8 point that has his ear split in half Tank- The wide 10 point that I have been getting pictures of for the past few years High Rise- A nice 10 point that isn't incredibly wide but his rack is really high. Bubba Jr's Jr- A nice wide 8 point that is hanging around where my buddy shot "Bubba Jr" two years ago Triple Brow- A main frame 8 point that has a triple brow on one side |
