Trailcam for around or below $150
 

I've been tryin to research what i can but i honestly don't know much at all about trail cams. I have a small riverfront property in some heavy timber and brush and I want to scout for bow season. however i don't have alot of time to go and scout myself. i'm needing to keep around $150 for the cam and i've been looking at some at walmart. there is one for around 168 bucks and said it had infrared. what are your thoughts/reccomendations.

Don't know what cam that was but maybe give the moutlrie 4.0 a try for $100 it has a fast trigger time and is supposed to be a realy good camera.

Just within the last few days I've been turned on to the stealth i450. It's 139 at cabelas and bass pro witha $20 rebate. I bought one today, I'm going to return the wildview 4.0 that I bought last week. Initially, I'm very impressed with it. The flash is outstanding, the pictures are clear, and trigger time is around 2 seconds.

Last week I would have told you to get the wildview. Mine crapped out after only a week (it doesn't turn on anymore, the lcd just flickers) and the pictures were really blurry on one side anyway.

The i450 has really impressed me. The flash is a lot better then the moultdrie d40 (I know, I had one but returned it for the wildview 4.0 :eek:) and takes better pictures. If you do get the stealth you'll eventually probably want to get the 12 volt battery kit $37. It's not the best on batteries, frankly I think it drains batteries faster thent the d40 because it's a much better performing camera. It seems to be all about tradeoffs with these low end cameras. Maybe one day there will be a low priced cam that doesn't have any serious downsides - the i450 is as close as I've seen.
Keep in mind that the moultrie d40 has a 'sleep mode' after there is no activity for 2 mintues. After 2 minutes it will take 'a few' seconds to take the pic. So, please don't buy the d40 for their 1 second trigger time claims - it's bogus!

Make sure to check out www.chasingame.com and read there reviews. Although, personally I think they are hesitant over there to write a bad review for some reason.

well for an update a got a moultrie gamewatcher 2.1. walmart had them marked down on sale to $79 and I had a $32 on a gift card. I'm gonna test it out sometime early next month on my hunting property, anyone have one of these cams?
