wildview cameras
 

ive got the wildview 2 & 3 extreme cameras they take excellent pictures, but the battery life on these cameras is terrible, lucky to get 2 weeks on alkaline and 2 weeks on rechargeables 2500. does everybody else see the same problem in theres? excellent pictures for 100.00 you cant go wrong! how are the extreme 4 & 5 on batteries the same or better?

I'd love to see some pix from your Wildviews??? I have a buddy that's interested in buying several cheaper trail cams for his farm and he's considering the Wildviews or the Moultire's.

try gettin the 12 volt kit for your camera.... they say it'll last up to 5-6 weeks

i second the 12 volt kit. you really have to get one it will save a lot of money in the long run. probably want 2 batteries so you can swap them out when you check the cam.it's a little more money up front but it's definitely worth it. I've now tried every single major brand and the only one I'm happy w/ is wildview, it's the only digital cam I've ever purchased that I thought was worth the money.

Had a wildview 2 out for tree weeks with duracells and got 1064 pictures out of it and it is still going on them , most of the pictures were daytime shots .

My wildview 3 is a great value. Great pictures. Burst feature is nice if you have a big sd card and can check it often enough.

The batterys drain without the camera on if you leave them in. The sensor outranges the flash. Right at dusk the pictures are kind of bad.

We got a blurry picture of a buck cruising by during a heavy snowstorm, could be clearer. Another the flash was too early and the pic was a little dark (flash too early). By the time next pic in burst mode went off (~10 sec) it was gone. At dusk everything turns out really bright sometimes for some reason. only just when starts to get dark enough for the flash to go on. It must change settings or something to absorb more light.

Edit: I've got some 12v backup usb batteries that I use. It lasts forever.

anyone have a wildview .3? i saw they are only $55 and was wondering if i should fork over the $100 and get something a little more reliable.

Personally - I'd stay away from the .3. the flash range is just a fraction of the extreme 2,3,4 (haven't seen the 5 yet). Plus, you cannot do movie mode which is really cool and there is no date/time imprint on the pictures.
