RE: Help with ideas
I would go to www.ChasinGame.com for reviews on the manufactured ones and help on making your own. They have lots of interesting setups written up in the forums too. There are other sites for home brews also.

I started by reading at www.pixcontroller.com.
They have the instructions and the products that you can use.

There are many different places to gather information on trail camera building. One thing I will warn people about is to be very carefull of purchasing any products from Pix Controllers as they have terrible customer service and their products do not stand up to their claims (from personal experiance).
The best place I have found for information is http://hagshouse.com/

I'm not sure what problems GrumpyTom has had with pixcontroller and I don't doubt that he has had problems but I know that I haven't had any problems with the four purchases I have made from them.
Yes there are several sites where you can get information about building cams but I have recieved most of my information from Pixcontroller. You can use your favorite search engine and find enough to read about homebrew cameras to last all day.
I currently have three game cameras that use Pixcontroller boards, two that use Hagshouse boards and two that use SnapshotSniper boards and I do not have anything bad to say about any of them.

Snoogsdad I will put this forward to let people know what to expect with a Pix controller product. I never received proper working products. Two caerra control boards that worked off and on and a slave \taht never worked. The slave was replaced after 4 months of me staying after him. The control boards, he claimed that I over heated the boards when soldering to it, he knew that I had the LE board which was PLUG CONNECTED ..... no soldering to the board. He then told me that if I wanted it FIXED ... I would have to SUE HIM to get that to happen.
I was later told what the problem was by someone else that knew alot more then me ..... defective parts (low quality to keep costs down) and PIX knows about the problem but tried to walk around it by blaiming others. I can't prove that is the reason, but I can prove the treatment of how he treats his customers that have problems with his products.
