My first game cameras - Stealth I390; Moultrie GS 200
Well, I have been reading posts here and on chasingame.com and jesseshunting.com on trail cams for a few weeks now and went ahead and bit the bullet. I have a Stealth I390 camera sitting on my desk right now and a Moultrie Gamespy 200 on the way. I got the stealth off ebay for $140 including shipping brand new and I got the Moultrie for $180 including shipping for the camera, 6v rechargeable battery, solar panel and 6v recharger.
I realize both of these cameras are not going to be "trail" worthy for the most part with their slower trigger times, but I plan on setting them up around either feeders or a pond for now just to try to get some kind of idea what kind of wildlife is running around on the new land that I purchased.
Hopefully I will be updating this post in a month or so with some new pictures off of my cameras.
Thanks for all the input on all of the different cameras that everyone posts on here. I realize that the cameras I picked may have some flaws, but for the price they seemed to be amoung the best bang for the buck to get a chance to take some pictures of what might be out and about on my land.
Thanks, Nathan

One thing you can do to make it more "trail worthy" even with slow trigger times is to put it close to the trail and point it down the trail. That way, the deer will be moving towards the camera as the camera activates. In most cases, deer or other animalswill be moving slowly enough to get somegood pictures. Of course, if they are moving the other way, all you will get will be there butts.

I also have the stealth 390 with the built in viewer and it has been great!
I have had it out since Jan 10th(last couple of days here in Illinois for bow) till today and it is still on the same set of batteries through all this cold and approx. 250 pics. and still going...... I agree to set it either facing a trail or going away from one on an angle and you will get plenty of pics. ..........The burst mode is nice because in almost all my pics a doe was photographed 1st followed by a buck. Here are some of the pictures I will put them in the next 2 posts...Good Luck!!

Very nice pics! Hopefully one day I'll get some as well.
So far I'm very dissapointed. [&:]
The camera will take pictures on test mode but no matter what I try it will not take pictures in regular motion activated mode. I've adjusted the sensor to far and near and changed the options from 1 picture 1 minute apart to 3 pictures 5 minutes apart and still nothing. I took thecamera outside in 32 degree weather and it didn't work, I originally tried it inside in 70 degrees and it didn't work. I made sure the flash was set to automatic and still it doesn't work. The little PIR circle shows up and everything seems set up properly but I just can't get it to trigger!
Stealth customer service is open at 9 in the morning so I will try to be their first caller.
Maybe it is something simple but I've read the manual through a couple times and can't see anything I'm missing.
It does take decent pictures in Test mode and the flash is pretty impressive, I just need to figure out how to getit to trigger!
Of course this is whenI start to wonder if saving $40 by buying it on Ebay was worth it because if it is defective I could just take it back to Walmart or Academy vs. now I will have to send it off to Stealth to get it repaired.
FWIW, Nathan

Hey npaden, Are you sure your flash card is good - I was having the same problem and come to find out my compact flash card was shot - I tried a new one and it worked fine. I'm not saying thatsyour problem but it wont hurt to give it a shot..

I don't know if your useing a flash card, but try it without one. Also, when you go to turn the camera on I think it has to stop at the test mode...wait for 2 beeps ..then turn camera on. I have had no problems with my camera (knock on wood) and I even had a Stealth 2.0 to compare with the 3.0 and had no problems with it either, I chose the 3.0 because of better flash, greater field of view in picture and picture quality.
I did buy from Cabelas...you can't go wrong with returns...sometimes you do get what you pay for though...are you sure it wasn't refurbished?
Good luck...I think I would have bought the Cudde, but I don't like the fact that their is know burst mode....in my area their are alot of deer so it's nice to have multiple pictures....at night the stealth will trigger about every 20 seconds because of flash recharge...daytime it will take 2-3 pics in a matter of a couple seconds...in burst mode.
Perfect camera would have Cudde trigger and all Stealth options, including the Stealth price
