Hunting With Your Camera
It is confession time. This not a hypothetical or "when I get a camera" thread, but who uses their cameras to do their "leg work" for them in preparation for a hunt? I, personally, make ALL my deer hunting decisions based on what shows up on my cameras. I admit that I have become lazy in the scouting department, but I can't sit in the woods 24/7 like my cameras. Who else shares my laziness due to technology?

RE: Hunting With Your Camera
I still do the leg work part. But I rely on my cameras to find the big boys that are usually nocturnal. That way in the rut I know what might appear during daylight hours. It helped me get this buck in PA.

I don't look at it as being lazy, I look at it like I'm multi-tasking. I will make some of my decisions on what I see in my pics, but remamber the pics are of walked in front of the camera yesterday...or the day before. You still need to look for the sign-posts, rub-lines, scrapes, sheds etc. Don't take the pics for granted though, I saw a very nice buck WHILE HUNTING that I don't have a single pic of.

RE: Hunting With Your Camera
Nice buck bullmoose38. As for me, I am going to be getting a camera for Christmas and hope it will aid me in my scouting efforts. The camera can't do all my scouting, but it can give me a good idea what's going on when I'm not there.
