i am looking at getting a moultrie game spy 100 2.1 megapixel deer
camera. how well does this camera take pictures? what do you like about this camera? does the flash scare awaydeer?

Is this the game camera that can be seen at Wal-mart? Goes for $99.99? If so I would like to hear the good and bad of this product as well.

The pics are alright I like my 3.1 megapixel better. It is a good starting point for the camera.The flash don't bother most deer some get freaked out. For a hundred it is a good deal

99 out of 100 deer dont get spooked by a flash I Am a hunter first and photograhper second and I am always taking pictures while on stand deer dont pay attention at all.

It is a good bait pile camera, but a terrible trail camera. I have one and I like it, but it is very slow. It can take anywhere from five to twenty seconds before it takes a photo. If you put it on a trail make sure you angle it. You might get some pictures then. I think it takes great photos though, and the price is right.

wow thats a slow trigger rate. That would do nothing for a trail. Why dont they list the trigger speeds on the boxes of trail cameras?

Because then you might spend the $400 on a cuddeback(sp?). The fastest trigger speed I have ever seen is on the cheepo $40 35mm Stealth cam. Those trigger in a fraction of a second and the pictures are awsome. Only problem is that you have to take the film in to be developed and buy film, since it isn't digital

I don't know about the Gamespy 100, but the Gamespy 200 3.1 mp does very well. I wouldn't spend all that money on a camera just for trigger speed, I'd rather have good quality pictures, and you can get that with the cheaper ones. You can always set your camera up on a trail at an angle lookin straight down it instead of facing it perpendicular to it. On the commercials they show the cameras set up so that the deer walks straight across in front of it, that's stupid. Set the camera up aiming where the deer are coming from, it makes sense.

The 100 takes decent pics but I dont like the fact that it has no solar chargerhook up so you will have to buy two rechargeable batteries to be able to change them out when they are dead. I spent the extra money and bought the 3.1 meg and it works wonderfull with a solar charger the battery has lasted over three months with 450 pics
