Default Trail Cameras (buying)

Sorry if this has been posted before.

I have the completely uselss Moultree 99.99 camera. I'd rather lose a 100 dollar bill for someone else to benefit than buying this usless chunk of plastic.

I am looking on Cabela's for a good trail cam. The reviews don't tell me much because I think some company's review their own product. I hear a few good things on the "do-it-yourself cam" where you buy your own camera and components. There are a lot out there and I am sure a lot of you have different models. So, what are the good buys out there?
