I'll Bet You've Not Seen One Of These Before
Picked this one up last Saturday. I already have a Pedersoli 12 Gauge double and don't really need another shotgun. But I could not resist this one. The bore is shiny clean and the locks work perfectly with strong springs and bridled tumbler and sear. Yesterday I just ordered a .690 ball mold for it just because it's something I have to try. |
India?
No thanks, even I am not that much of a dare devil lol. Looks like max load is 89 grains and 1 1/4oz shot. Thats nice having the max load on the barrel. Never seen or heard of this one but that made in india alone will run folks far away from it. |
Well Devil, "It's just a better gun". :s2:
I understand your gut reaction to a gun made in India. However, this thing is really well done. I would rank it a cut above the NAVY shotguns and three cuts above those percussion doubles made my CVA. I think the quality of the locks is a good indication of the gun's overall quality, and the locks on this one are outstanding. |
Dat der is a purdy gun semi. Better not shoot it too much with that bum shoulder.

Aw heck Bronko. A .690 ball is only 437 grains. I can handle that in an 8 lb. 10 oz. gun. (Probably)

Wow
Super nice great looking gun |
I have one of these shotguns. I bought mine at Four Flags trading Post in Wichita KS in 1977 for $110.00. I have shot hundreds of shots thru mine, always using the same measure for both the powder and shot. The 1&1/4 oz measure. This equates to 90 grs powder. Nice gun, well made, great looker. I use the circle fly wads. A few years ago I was a member of a forum dedicated to firearms owners of India. I corresponded with a man there that knew the family that made the gun. He said it was a very well respected small gun maker. Mine has just a bit more wear and tear than that one, as I hunted with it for years. Nice catch there.

Oh, I forgot to mention, but maybe you noticed they use a bigger cap, a #12 percussion. Not easy to find. I've never shot a ball out of mine, just shot OO to 7&1/2. Great squirrel gun.

So when you gonna shoot the thing? We're waiting.
