A .58 flintlock

Since shooting my .58 percussion GM barrel and liking how well it shoots and also being a fan of big bores I've been contemplating getting a flinter in .58. I was thinking of getting a long rifle made but was wondering where I could come up with and extra $1000+. So last night while rummaging through my odds and ends I came across a T/C Hawken and T/C Renegade stock with all the hardware! Eureka. this morning I put a call in to Bob Hoyt and told him I'd be sending him the Renegade stock and a set of sights and he is going to make me a .58. Its going to be 32" long 1" across the flats and have a 1:70 twist which I've researched and found to be about the best twist for shooting PRBs. He will also be installing an underrib and ramrod thimbles.
Bob is pretty busy right now but I know he will have for me soon enough.

I know. I got a .54 made from him last year. He told me he was real busy but I got it in about 3 weeks.

Big mistake on the 1:70 twist Bronko. I can't get my 1:70 .58 to shoot any better than this.

That's downright awful Semisane. I think you should send that junker to me to see if I can get it to be anything other than fence-post material. I'm not sure I can do it but I'm willing to put a couple of years into it. Might take longer but I do like a challenge. I'd be happy to give it the old college try. But for my time and trouble you should at least pay the shipping.

Hey Semi - don't you hate when you get those flyers?
I think once I get this barrel I'm going to sell a muzzies or two. Probable the first one to go will be my T/C Hawken stock with blackened hardware and .50 cal GM LRH barrel, percussion. Its a really good shooter with Pyrodex and Hornady 300 gr XTPs with Harvester CR sabots.
That would leave me with my .45 Hawken, .54s in flint and percussion, .58s in flint and percussion, a Pedersoli flintlock .50, and my Accura V2.
