Free Junk

Hey guys, a neighbor found this thing cleaning out someone's garage. Looks like a 1" x .54 caliber TC barrel in "rough" shape. :s10:

If anyone wants it for a project I'd be happy to send it to you for the cost of shipping. You can have loads of fun filing the flats and getting it re-bored to .58, or maybe cut it in pieces and make some smoothbore pistol barrels.

bore butter users I swear! They will never learn.

Idaholewis 05-12-2018 02:22 AM

Holy Moly! That Poor Ole Barrel is the Worst I have ever seen

hunters_life 05-12-2018 01:26 PM

Was his garage under water?

bronko22000 05-12-2018 02:32 PM

Semi now I gave you one of my better barrels in good faith! Don't let the looks fool you - this barrel is a real shooter!

Semisane 05-12-2018 03:41 PM

At least there wasn't a load in it.

How could you tell? Could you actually get a ramrod down that barrel?

Too bad. I would have taken it and paid the shipping if you would have thrown in the Swamp Dragon!
Which reminds me, I haven't heard about it lately. Are you feeding it on a regular basis?

Semisane 10-26-2018 10:05 AM

Honestly Bronko, the Dragon has not been out of the rack in almost two years. Every now and then I hear a low growl from that end of the man cave - it is pissed.

Well I highly suggest you take it out and feed it something, anything. Even if its only Paper.

Now I'm curious to see what the swamp dragon is.....

Jake, the Swamp Dragon is a gun I built a few years back on a whim. So far as I know it's the only striker fired under barrel percussion caplock in existence.

It shoots pretty well.

Prior to being a mod I didn't go to sections of the forum that I couldn't contribute in. So I stayed in big game, small game, and firearms forums primarily.

I just got into muzzleloading last year and began reading posts there more often. But I missed the swamp dragon somewhere along the way.

Even as a mod I don't get around the forum as much as I should which leads to me missing certain things .

Semi, that is an incredible rifle. Have you hunted with it?
