Shooting with the old man today!
 

I shot my official score target today and then decided to see if the old man wanted to go shoot his Hawken. He jumped up and went out to the range with me.

Both gun shot the same loads of 80gr 2fg goex, .018 patch and .490 round ball.

We were just plinking and having fun at 25 yards, standing up off hand.

Our first 3 shots, mine are in the orange.




My 5th got away from me, Oops!



We did a whole bunch more shooting and I took a couple shots with my dads Hawken and shes a shooter!

A lot of fun, neither of us are sore from all the off hand shooting. Bench shooting really sucks when you think back on all the times you got up achy and stiff afterward.

thats not bad at all for shooting off hand while standing with no rifle rest, with the semi crude original iron sights
easily accurate enough for deer or hogs at 50 yards or a bit more
