There are no used sidelocks left in S.E. Louisiana because I bought them all. :s2:

A few years back when Louisiana and Mississippi added exposed hammer 45-70's, 444's and 35 Whelens to the guns allowed in our "primitive" season (that's not a joke) lots of sidelocks hit the local market at a good price. You don't see many of them these days.

So, beyond the inline/traditional debate, has anyone noticed declining values for sidelocks/flintlocks, lately?

I've not been shopping actively for the past 11 or 12 months.

T/Cs of all flavors were regularly selling around $400 a couple years ago; CVA Mt Rifles,USA made, were fetching $450+.

Thought to sell a couple I simply do not shoot to partially finance a Jim Kibler kit...maybe not.

Around here in Virginia, I have never seen these high prices for a side lock or even an inline!!! These guns seem to always go for a minimal price. They only sidekicks that go for a very high price are originals!

I always considered that taking game with a sidelock was an accomplishment!!!!!
