To shoot or not to shoot

I been thinking about actually using this gun to hunt with this year , especially if I draw a Refuge tag . I have some big lead conicals that I think would probably be deadly accurate in it . I might just have to break down and give it a shot ( no pun intended) :)
It's a 1:24 twist 50 cal .
Of course with my eyes I imagine 100 yards will be my max any more .

Hell yes, hunt with it. Shooting 100yds is farther than I can shoot open sights, but I hunt in the timber. You have more open terrain. I'm loving that peep sight.

You'll have to crawl closer on your belly. :)

I think it would really be exciting. That is one reason I purchased those custom flintlocks. I want to take a deer with a flintlock and I want the best one I can get. I think that would really be a great hunt.

Nice rifle and I too like that peep. It looks really sturdy.

The peep sight is listed as item #70 here. https://www.davide-pedersoli.com/upl...i/S664-665.pdf

I wonder what they cost and how you would go about obtaining one.

shoot it, you'll feel much more excited when you drop the hammer.

T/C make a peep very similar to that one. Its a tang mount. I had one. But once scopes were legal, took it off and sold it to someone. I like peep sights but they too have their limitations IMO. But that sure is a nice rifle. Does it come in flintlock?

I had a couple of those TC peeps too. They get a lot of money for them now if you can even find one.

I have a couple spare T/C peeps. I was thinking of putting one or two in the classifieds.

Why not hunt with it, too used to shooting flintlocks and hand cast round balls???

Or too used to hunting with scoped, bolt action rifles???
