who needs to shoot 100+ grains of powder in a .50cal with round ball? No reason for it IMO and you know how I love shoot 150 yards or more. Most won't even shoot a 50cal with round ball over 100 yards.

I wish I would have had the foresight to bring your anti-rust lube and my pillow tick material with me to Florida. At least I would have something to do in my free time.

Swatting mosquitos must keep you busy.

Well, I got the mountain rifle out to 100 yards today. Not bad! First 2 shots were 1 1/2" of each other! Im using a crappy caldwell 7rest which is horrible, it threw one of my shots down lower, then before that, took a shot with my sun glasses on which REALLY changed POI, but the follow up shot grouped with the first two shots for a group size of 2 5/8" measured.

THEN I ran it back to 150 yards and took one shot, saw the drop and said, fudge that! That .490" round ball was not made for long range shooting LOL. It was a little over 17" of drop!

LOL,,,yeah them round balls are definite air stoppers to be sure. Kinda like them young stallions, great outta tha gate but not much for endurance :D

Hell, my 58 shot flatter!

Not a big deal, I know my deer area doesnt allow for shots that long, so its just all in fun.

I may set up my chrony today and compare the 32" barrel VS my 28" barrel with exact loads.

HA HA! Along with all the other creepy crawly things Florida has to offer. Never been there and have no desire to go there. I have relatives in several parts of that state and they tell me it's BUG CENTRAL! :lolabove:

I think the mosquito is the state bird.
