The UPS man arrived !!!

As I had mentioned, the UPS man was due today with my new rifle. And needless to say I was excited. That was until he handed me the package. It looked like someone had stepped on it as the front side of it was crushed. Now I was worried.

But I opened the box with the ton of packing material, the wooden framed box and found this ....

All was well inside the box. So let me introduce you to my .58 caliber Early Virginia Model Flintlock rifle. It was made by Tennessee Valley Muzzle Loading (TVM) and it has a 36" Colerain Barrel with a 1-56 twist. The rifle sports a Chambers/Seiler lock, and Davis triggers. The full stock is made of Maple and all the trimmings are browned to match the barrel.

I think it looks great. Now I have to figure out how to display it in the gun room along with the other one.

Too heck with the gun room! I'd be displaying it on the range or to a deer herd! Dat der rifle was ment fer shootin bubba! Not hangin all purdy on a wall!

Beautiful rifle Dave!!

I have to wonder about those UPS people!! I actually saw a delivery guy drop a RTIC cooler I ordered last summer on my carport. He got away before I could get outside, luckly the cooler wasn't damaged. I try to be there everytime I expect a package now.

Absolutely beautiful. If it shoots half as good as it looks you have a real winner . If it was mine I doubt I would even shoot it :). Probably just hold it once in a while . Congrats
It's always a good day when the Big Brown truck pulls up and you know you have a new baby aboard .

Dave, YOU DIRTY RAT! Just when I've convinced myself I don't want or need a custom built rifle you show that thing.

That my friend is exactly the one I would want built. It's beautiful.

Now yer talkin my language Dave!!! Ya sceert me for a minute when ya said you were looking to display it in the gun room!!! The wife about has a heart attack when I pull out the Krieghoff Double Rifle or the matched pair of Colts to go hog hunting! Yeah the double is worth about 10-12k and it sure is purdy but it also puts the hammer of thor on a hog! Like you, aint a gun made to purdy to shoot! Maybe to purdy to take through some bush but if ya are afraid to shoot the dang thing why buy it?!

I have to admit, my Early Lancaster has never been in the woods. I got close to the woods and let it sniff around but never entered the woods. I just take it to the range. To me, and one person said, this is gun porn. I am already thinking of the next rifle. Matt and TVA does such a nice job. But it takes so long to get a rifle made! But the wait is part of the excitement.

That's pretty to Dave but I'm afraid I couldn't shoot that in our cold primitive season here in PA. Being a southpaw my cheek might get stuck to that nice shiny brass!
