I guess its a bit tough to keep your powder dry in that mess. Don't worry - as the old song goes. The sun will come out tomorrow. Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love you tomorrow.............

I heard about all the rain Louisiana had gotten. When I heard the meteorologist talking about it I even thought of you. Although I thought he said the northern end of Louisiana was the one getting pounded.

Our weather is crazy this winter. March ... and we had 60 degrees the other day, then this morning below freezing and chance of light flurries. I mean this is nuts. The driveway melted off completely. That usually don't happen until late April. And all the snow melted off the roofs. We still have 12 inches of snow on the yards (where no plowing was done) but even that is melting off on the edges.

You are going to have to start dragging a pirogue behind you, just in case of deep water you know. Does all this rain bring out the snakes and alligators?

Flooding will move the prey, predators will generally follow or spread out to find them.

Not sure why you're not shooting? Your hands are free.

You got a point Muley. Even with his eyes under water he probably wouldn't notice the accuracy difference anyway......

But his Scotch might get too watered down sitting on the bench table there..

Today we hit 54 degrees. It was nice to go outside without a jacket and walk around. Worked in the garage and I swear every time I looked out the window, more snow in the yard had disappeared.

Dave... I 'm not complaining either!!

We went into a very warm trend here this past week. Last Sunday was in the upper 50's and it kept climbing. By Wednesday it was 72 and although it has cooled down since, today was still in the low 60's. Game was on the move big time prior to the warm up... last Sunday we had 32 turkeys out in our back yard and there were 5 gobbler fanned out and strutting. Sunday evening just at dusk there were 4 small bucks that crossed the yard on there way to the neighbors corn stubble. Three of them had dropped an antler from one side and one still had both!!

I fished a local trout stream that's open year around on Wednesday with my son and a friend of mine. I caught a nice holdover Brown around 16"... this time last year that same stream was 3/4 locked up with ice!!
