I was checking out the rocky mountain nationals facebook site and saw this set up. I could go a month in that during a hunt easily!

My Cheyenne friend lives in a teepee about 2 miles from me. It's a nice one with a wood stove in it. It has flaps in the top of it that can be opened when the stove is burning, and closed when it rains. He has real thick buffalo hides he sleeps under. It's 2-3 times as big as the one in your picture.

Pretty nice setup.

Pretty neat! When i was a kid i went to visit my buds house, his uncle had a wigwam he built, complete with a woodstove. He lived in it year round, it was pretty warm in there.

:poke:Unless those things stickin out the top are TV antennas I don't want not part of it.

No really they look mighty nice. I wouln't mind staying in either of those. Under a bunch of buffalo hides with a good lookin squaw to keep me warm and cozy. You know, a full time night woman!!

I spent five days in a canvas wall tent. We were moose hunting. No wood stove. Just a lot of tired people snoring and passing gas. We were hunting in October in Canada. And woke to snow on the ground one morning and shelf ice on the lake. The hunt was exciting, and it was fun being with the gang, but I was sure glad to get home to my house, gas furnace, warm dry bed, running water, and hot showers.

I have a lot of admiration for people that "live wild." We take so much for granted. If you doubt that, let the power go out for a couple hours and listen to the people howl! Those that live in tents, cabins, with no water or heat other then what they can gather, are a special breed of people. I've often wondered if I could have done it. Perhaps when I was young (and crazy). But not anymore.

Those are beautiful pictures of camps. Excellent Tepees, and covers. I really like those kind of pictures.

I lived in wall tents for three months at a time for over 30 years. They are always comfortable but now I find a sleeping bag in straw mattress is a little hard and cots are not an alternative.
