Anyone know if he was into muzzleloading? I always enjoyed watching him on TV, but never knew any more about him other than he was an actor.

Yeah I saw that. Enjoyed that back in the day. He's semi-immortal due to that roll... at least with the 40+ crowd.

Twas thinking about the cast of that program just the other day after one of Muleys mule/horse comments from another thread.

kidoggy 01-15-2016 04:07 PM

LMAO, he sold a few grams to what he THOUGHT was a friend that had been coming to his home for months. In fact it was a couple of undercover narco officers that were assigned to "entrap" people in the entertainment industry. That entrapment was also proven in court which was why he got a very lax sentence. You are trying to say he was some sort of heavy drug dealer when in fact he just did stuff like that socially which back in the middle 80's was more common than weed. Before you besmirch the dead, try laying out some facts first.

kidoggy 01-15-2016 04:39 PM

he was convicted and did time for it. sounds like a dealer to me.
of coarse the druggy is never at fault.

MountainDevil54 01-15-2016 06:55 PM

well the United States did come up with Opium to trade to the Chinese back in the old'n days.

I forgot all about that dude. Seemed like a nice fellow.

muzzlestuffer 01-16-2016 08:11 AM

i remember me and my father watching that movie many years ago brings back some good memories !

sconnyhunter 01-16-2016 10:17 AM

I wish we had more shows like that on TV now, it might actually be worth watching. I was a faithful watcher of reruns of Grizzly Adams, as a younger individual.

i actually forgot about that movie for many years and just about six months ago i watched it on you tube that's the only place i could find it !

I guess I'm the odd man out...I always thought he was a tree hugger. :confused0024:

MountainDevil54 01-16-2016 05:58 PM

on the show he was an animal lover and tree hugger. Makes you sick at times on some of the episodes but it sure beats whats on today.

so did I.maybe he was just a good actor, though I don't remember anything worthy of an oscar ,either.I confess to not know a lot about his personal life but he never struck me as a person to look up to, or a particularly good role model.
of coarse when a man passes it is human nature to remember them as better then they really were.
I do however agree , we need more family friendly shows of this caliber today

While I admit I did watch the show, there are parts about those kind of programs that do upset me a little. But enough said. Rest in peace Grizzly Adams, and wasn't his bear named Ben?

Bart The Bear. That Bear was a movie star galore. One of the best trained Brown Bears in recent history. If memory serves, they only had one minor incident with Bart getting rough with an actor or trainer and that was when he was still fairly young. But the TV show called the Bear "Ben" and there was a movie called "Gentle Ben" as well as a novel and I think a TV show too.
