Getting better every day

Well its the third night in a row that have had to work at this boring job. This site is the only thing keeping me going. Shot in the am and had one of my best practie session since I got the new bow. I tryed not to drop the bow after the arrow left and that realy helped. Is that considered following through? The best part about it was the stalk I got in on a group of 2 or 3 bucks. I saw them run across my nabiors yard and noticed they were heading my way so I got in the woods were i figured they would come out. Well everything went to plan and the first two ended up about 20 yards out perfect broadside. I drew on the first one(just for fun no arrow) but didnt see the third one looking at me. They all ran tails up. The first two had good nubs and i never got a look at the second. It was weird it felt just like fall, no leaves yet on the trees and it was snowing with a good northwest wind, its days like this that make me forget about the call of trout.
Later guys

Not dropping the bow arm and keeping your hand pointed at the target is part of follow through. Another part is keeping your release hand up where the release was made. The other part is you keep concentrating on the spot you want to hit until you see the arrow in it. Nothing moves, not body parts or concentration, until the arrow is in the target.

Arthur, why is it that I can hit a water bottle almost everytime at 10-12yds, but when I shoot a target at that range my groups suck?

edit: the hand refuses to follow the brain!

You're obviously a natural born wottle bottle killer. [8D]

I don't know about you, but when I try to shoot groups any more, I wind up really pressuring myself to do well and wind up thinking too much about the shot rather than concentrating on the target.

Ya, sorry, rotten, no good, lousy dog! I figured you were the type to go around behind somebody's back and edit a post. LOL[8D]

I do the other steps of following threw with out even thinking I guess, I hope I dont start thinking about it now. I have the same problem with groups. Not only with a bow but with guns to. I can pick up a gun and hit a moderate sized bullseye at just about any reasonable yardage, but when I am trying to site in a gun I cant keep the gun on target. I think its just a mental thing, to much thinking.

Guss - glad to hear of your progress. I returned to trad two months ago after a long layoff. Well, my old problems of target panic and inconsistent draw length came right back to plague me. I bought a "Crick-It" from 3Rivers and installed it this weekend. WOW, what a HUGE difference. I went from spraying arrows to shooting 6-8" groups all the way out to 30 yards. It's fun again!

Nice hgsnpr, your doing better then me, but i get better every day. I am down to 1 arrow so my practice is getting slower. I shot two of them into the same tree and they bent right at the insert, not to cool.
