New to trad!
 

Hey folks, I lurk here a lot and you guys have a great amount of information. Thanks for all I've learned already. Now, here's my question. I mentioned to a neighbor that I was going to try a recurve bow and he says, "Wait here a minute", and runs into his house. He returns with a Martin hunter, 45@28", hand is to me and says, "Have fun!". I ask what he wants for it and he says to just shoot it and have fun. What a guy! The local archery shop measured my draw at 29" so I'm going to shoot a 30" arrow. I have some 2114s now, but I think they're too stiff. I'm thinking 2016? Am I right?

Wish I had a neighbor like that. I would stick with the 2114's. I think they are lighter than the 2016's or check out a arrow chart.

With large fletching, and you just starting either arrow will likely work to just fling and have fun with.

Martin are suppose to be nice solid bows that shoot well. You'll love it. If you can, roam around and shoot at pop cas and stuff. I LOVE shooting at cans/platics bottle becasue popping one makes a nice loud audible noise and sometimes the can/bottles fly up into the air. SHooting instinctive and popping one at 30-35 years is a great feeling !

At 29" you'll be pulling about 47 or 48 pounds. 2016's cut 29.5" or 30" should be perfect with 125 gn tips.
