Black Widow SAG Experience

I have the opportunity to get a used Black Widow SAG. Does anyone have any experience with this bow, good or bad? Please let me know.

God Bless,

Mark

Well Mark, It looks like everyone is going to stay out of this one.
You asked for opinions, and understand this is just my opinion: You can buy a lot better longbow for less money.

I agree with John. While Black Widow makes fine, but pricey, recurves, their longbows leave a lot to be desired.

Hey Mark, I have shot the SAG and would like to have one. The SAG is a one piece recurve and not a longbow. I haven't shot the LAG which is their longbow so don't have any opinions on it. I shot a 96 model and have been trying to trade the guy out of it but he wants to much boot<img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>. The one I shot was very quiet for a widow and pretty fast. The grip would take a little time to adjust to but I think you could adjust . In my opinion it would make a first class tree stand bow. Mark,
My take would be that if the price is right you shouldn't go wrong as long as the bow is undamaged (Yes I know often hard to tell).

Good Luck!

I agree with John about the LAG. Even though I didn't mind how it shot, I wouldn't trade my CM for it. The SAG that I shot was a very nice shooting bow and like was said, as long as it's in good shape and at a decent price I don't think you can go wrong. I think it'd make a good brush or tree bow too.

On the video Traditional Vision Quest you can see a Black Widow
LAG in action. Denny Sturgis Jr. uses one.

ive shot a friends sag and fell in love with it. even tho its a recurve the grip is like that of a longbow, it took a little to get used to that. it's a very smooth drawing bow. i would have bought it from him but the draw weight wasn't heavy enough for me. if the price is right you cant go wrong...good luck!

Shoot it and see what you think. Probably one of the most controversial bows on the market. I have shot several BW recurves and one BW longbow. The recurves were ok, only one really got my attention, I wouldn't pay the price for any I shot. The one longbow I shot was very dissapointing. If it is cheap enough and is good shape, you could most likely sell it and get your money back, if not a profit, if you don't like it. Those bows have a very strong following--danged if I understand it though. Just my opinion/experience.
