Herters bow

I have a old herters recurve I got from my uncle. It's 60' & 50#@28' .I've hunted with it for 3yrs. and taken 3 deer. Does any know when they stoped making them? It has a little crick in the upper limb , but shoots fine. Low tech

RE: Herters bow

I have an old recurve that might be a Herters. It is a Mark I and it has a place where a decal once was, that's about the size of a Herters decal. It WAS very fast, but started getting cracks in the lower limb, so I retired it. I was reading about Herters having a glueing problem and that's what did them in, but not sure how long ago. Did I tell you the bow was fast??

RE: Herters bow

I had a Herters bow as well. I did some checking and it was made by Ben Pearson Archery. I think they got out of the archery business, because of competition. I no longer have the bow, however. My Ex-wife took it and gave it to her brother. I shot my first deer with that bow. It was a gift from my brother on my 12th birthday. I guess the memories can't be taken away.
