New Climbing Stand

I just tried out my new Summit Goliath. It's a piece of cake to climb with and almost too comfortable. I'm going to really enjoy this years hunt. Now, if I can only find a straight limb-less tree! Dick

Dick,

How big are you? (Hope I'm not being too personal! <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> ) The Goliath is a rather large stand isn't it?

I'm curious also. Been looking for a new climber for a couple of years now, haven't found one to suit me. Although I have hunted more and more from the ground, it's just not practical (or hardley possible) in some of my favorite spots. I need one that is longbow friendly, and rated for 300+ lbs. Would love to hear how it works for you.

Thanks Jason! I'm 6'2&quot; and 300#. The Goliath is rated for 350# I've practiced with it and fnd it very easy to climb with and very stable. Highly recomended. Dick

One possible problem is that you will have to stand to shoot.

I have a Summit Viper XLS that is rated to 300 lbs. It handles my 6'2' and 260 lbs fine. The only concern/difficulty I have is shooting the longbow.

I think I would like to get the new Summit Revolution top, $179.00 direct from the factory, and use it with the lower part of my Viper. It appears to be a more longbow friendly stand.

I have a Myles Keller climber that I really like. Very easy to shoot a recurve from.

I got to sit in the new Summit Revolution yesterday--I believe I have found my stand! Man alive that thing is comfortable, seems like it would be hard to fall out of if you took a nap, open in the front but still a stand-up/sit down climb, two different places to rest your feet--looked like an easy all-day stand to me. Now, where do you get the best price on these?

Hey Blue--good to see you back! I saw that 'Ol Man stand, and the API model that is similar also. They were a little cheaper than the Revolution, but I will pay the difference. Got to have a comfortable stand!
