59 @ 29" longbow
60 @ 29 1/2" recurve

Your low poundage bow will kill within the yardages given but you would want to be on the money with the shot. Personally, I think a little more poundage--with heavy arrows also--would be preferable.

55#-60# Have hunted everything from Elk to Bear have had zero problems.

35# is on the very light side. Will it kill? Most likely. Will you have to be very careful? YES!

Got bows ranging from 40# to 54# and my fav is a 54# r/d style longbow.

Get close, use a heavy arrow, a scary sharp 2 blade broadhead and pinpoint accuracy for optimal shot placement and you won't have a bit of trouble killing deer with your bow. Would probably work well on young hogs too.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Matt, your enthusiasm is great, but I want to ask you one question--are you pulling 35 lbs or is your bow 35 lbs? Big difference there. If you are pulling at least 35 lbs., your arrows are flying straight, and your broadheads are razor sharp cut on contact design, I believe you would be fine at 10-15 yds--as long as you put the arrow in the right spot.

I draw [email protected]&quot; on my main bow, and plan on going after moose in a week with it.

Best of luck to you!

All my recurves and longbows are at the 54# @ 28&quot; range save the Assenheimer Brown Hunter which is at 60# @ 28. It be for sale by the way. The older I get the smarter I feel. Don't need no heavy poundage but think 35# is a little light. Will it kill? No doubt with a hair popping sharp broadhead and putting it in the right spot.
But, there is always that but you know. Getting it to the right spot might be tricky!
