Arrow flight = crappy !!!!
Well, my 50# recurve that shoots soooo well, seems to be cracking. I had a guy look at it, and he confirmed the worst. Man, it shot arrows good and straight. So, now, I am shooting my Bear Kodiak Hunter 45#. I tried 2117s and they were really wobbly, so I fletched a few 2016s. Better, but still a bit wobbly. And today, I tried 2018s. Still wobbly. Any ideas ??
BTW. I tried bare shafts on the 2117 and 2016, and they both looked like they turned 90 degrees on the way to the target. |
RE: Arrow flight = crappy !!!!
I'd guess your current arrows to be overspined for the bow. Add point wt to the 2016 or try 1916 shafts.
Sorry to hear about your 50#er cracking. |
RE: Arrow flight = crappy !!!!
Shoot your arrows [bare shaft] at a target 15 yds. away. If the arrow comes out nock left, it is too limber. Needs to be shorter, or a thicher shaft. Nock right, the arrows too stiff, needs to be longer , or a thinner shaft. Its all in the arrows flexibility.

how about a little more specs, like your draw length. Maybe then we can make an accurate idea on what you need, something much closer then what you are attempting to fly right now. Btw, the 2117's are extremely stiff for a 45lb bow unless you have a monkey LBR draw.

1916's for sure then! :D With a 125 grainer you'd be borderline- but if you shoot 145-150 gn heads I'd go over to 2016.

I tried the 150 gr practice points, and got great arrow flight with 2016s, and that was with straight feathers. I'm also fletching a 1916 to try also. Thanks to all.
