Some tips for long bow and recurve?
Next year me and my cousin are going to hunt with a long bow and a recurve and tips on shooting, or anything else that would help?

Don't do all your shooting in front of a target butt. Get out in the woods with a handful of arrows tipped with judo points and do a lot of stump shooting. Shooting at worthy targets of opportunity at unknows yardages will do you a lot more good than just thumping one arrow after another into a target face. It's a hoot, especially when you've got someone to compete against. Pick a target, say a clump of grass, and both of you shoot. Whoever has the best shot chooses the next target, maybe a leaf or a dried up cow pie.
When I go out on public land, I carry a trash bag with me. I shoot the plastic bottles and beer cans the hikers and horse riders throw out along the trails, pull them off my arrow, stick 'em in my sack and pack the trash out. I get some good practice in and leave the outdoors a little better than I found it. |

Yes, get out and shoot, get good at known ranges and then do the stump shooting. it has to be the best.
