Bear Razorheads

Has anyone had any luck with getting the Bear 142 gr Super Razorheads to fly well for them? With the Bleeder blades installed in them? Do these heads plane?

RE: Bear Razorheads

Razorheads have been one of my favorites ever since I was a kid. They hurt them when Bear turned away from carbon steel and started using stainless, IMO, because they're kinda a challenge to sharpen to the polished, razor edge I like. The steel they use is pretty soft and gummy, so when I use Razorheads I prefer to sharpen with only a file. Leave the honing stone and strop for the Zwickeys and Magnus heads. But Razorheads are still a good head. Probably the least troublesome head I know of when it comes to getting them tuned up and flying straight.

Will they plane? Any head will plane if you have poorly spined arrows and an untuned bow. If you do your part though, they'll do theirs.

If only they'd bring back the old yaller, carbon steel, glue-on Razorheads...[&:]
