Bow cant and eyes...
1) is it an accepted or common method to shoot with both eyes open?
2) Should gap shooters cant their bow? I'm shooting a recurve, though I have not been gap shooting I thought about trying it. I'm terribly inacurrate past 20 yards. I hit the target but with no consistency. |
RE: Bow cant and eyes...
In my opinion, it's much better to shoot with both eyes open. It allows for depth perception. For many years, I closed one eye (compound/peep habit). It took some work, but I now shoot with both eyes open, and it does help.
Canting your bow gets it out of your sight picture. If you are used to this, no reason to change if you start to gap. Just remember to cant your head at approximately the same angle. Chad |
RE: Bow cant and eyes...
I don't cant, though I tried it today and it was very awkward.
I like to shoot with both eyes open and I shoot alot better that way. It feels more natural to me, kinda like shooting a shotgun maybe. |
