fletching????
Like I've stated in previous posts I'm new to the recurve deal.I need to know about how to fletch them.I do my own with my compound, but do Recurve shooters prefer a slight offset or the helical????do most of you shot left or right wing feathers??The shafts that I got from the shop were already fletched with left wing and on a slight offset.I have a standard straight Bitzenberger jig and clamp if I decide to go helical do I have to get the jig with the clamp or can I just get the clamp???Also do I need the helical nock receiver for the left or right helical??I know that some of my ?? my seem trivial to some but you never know unless you ask.I will say this though shooting the recurve is a blast.I hope to get this arrow thing figured out .Thanks again for your time .

RE: fletching????
I use straight clamp with a offset.. I use 4 feathers, for me it flies great. Good luck with You'r recurve

RE: fletching????
Goldenarm, I do all my fletching with the same jig you have, with a right Helical. the left or right is up to you. I have tried straight off set and didn't like it. but with the bitzenburg jig all you have to do is get another clamp.

RE: fletching????
Offset will work, but I prefer a helical. I shoot both right and left wing feathers, and don't see any difference--just don't mix them on the same arrow. You can buy just the clamp for your jig. You won't have to change nock recievers--the different nock receiver is for fletching for a TM Hunter rest, with the cock feather down.
No problem on the questions--lots easier to ask than to spend a lot of extra money that you don't have to. Good luck! Chad |
RE: fletching????
IMO it doesn't matter a whole lot. Fletch 3 or 4, right or left or straight - close to the nock or farther away, high profile or low ........... if the shafts are close to the spine you need for you bow, they'll shoot fine any way you do them
