References for making a bow?

Does anyone know of any good references to making hunting bows? I know it is a huge task but I'm not in any hurry to hunt with it if ever, just thinking of starting a new project.

Thanks for any help

I assume you mean a glass laminated longbow or recurve? Check out Bingham Projects. They've got everything a novice bowyer needs.

If you build it, you WILL hunt with it. Guaranteed. ;)

I second the Bingham reference. I made my lefty brother a longbow from their kits. The ingrate proceded to outshoot me with it. (And still does). For great background reading on the subject or to learn everything you've ever wanted to know about how to craft self-bows (all wood, unlaminated bows), I'd recommend the Traditional Bowyer's Bible (Vol 1-3). Great reading. They even cover laminate bows, including the complicated Mongol-type and other horsebows.
