Anyone familiar with...

Dwyer Longbows?

I was talking bows with one of the guys who used to run the trad shop in my area, and he said I definitely should check into them before making a final decision.

Nice looking bow..classic lines...

I have shot a couple of Dwyers, as a matter of fact I shot one that a friend has yesterday. It was a smooth drawing bow but as was the case with both of the Dwyers that i've shot, it had a fair amount of thump to it at the shot [:@]. So much so that I don't think I could shoot one for very long without my elbow starting to hurt. That's just my neophite opinion, I have a Thunderhorn RD longbow and there is no hanshock what so ever. I would try and shoot any bow you were interested in before you buy. My friend also has a Thunderstick MOAB and it's a fast shooter with no hand shock.

I think I've shot one or two, but I can't say for sure. I've shot so many different longbows that they have to really stand out in some way for me to remember them specifically--for instance performance, handshock, price, etc. Some I remember because they shot great, some I remember because I would never want to own one. If I shot a Dwyer, it was not outstanding enough--good or bad--for me to remember it specifically.
