What arrow broadhead set up?

I have a Ben Pearson 45lb recurve. I think it's a cougar? I have a 31 in. draw length. What arrow and broad head set up would get me the best flight, penetration and speed? I have some 2315's that shoot like broomsticks UGh! My max effective range is about 15 yards. I shot this bow as a kid and it is still in great shape. I've never taken a deer with it and would like to this year. I have some Ziwickey broad heads that I can sharpen to a razors edge. I shoot Gold tip 5575's in my compound and really like them. Any ideas?

With a recurve you may end up with a draw length of 30 or so. After you figure that out for sure, just get some arrows spined say 40-45 or 45-50 and start shooting. In my experreince zwickeys fly very well, assuming you are shooting an arrow that is matched well to the bow. They also are great broadheads when sharp.

I went with some Easton carbon epic 400s'with feathers. They are such an improvement over the vaned 2315's I have! I have one pin on the bow. I was shooting with fingers and doing ok. 3" groups at 15. I'm not satisfied with that so kept shooting..ALOT! I got it down to having my first two arrows group a little under 3" till i got tired. Then I tried my cobra caliper release. Wow! It got a lot better. Now if I shoot good well aimed shots with a solid anchor I get the same group at 20. I know that that isn't quite "traditional" but it is working great. No broadheads yet but as soon as I get some styrofoam I'm switching to them.

At 31" draw you are probably shooting more like 57lbs instead of 45. I would go with some 2016 aluminums with 5" helical fletch. I use 125 grain snuffers for my own setup and they are great broadheads. I've heard they can be hard to tune but that hasn't been my experience and they are razor sharp and do massive damage to anything they hit.

Shot a 100 gr. 3 blade muzzy with these carbons. It shot better than field points if that is possible. I just hope that this setup will be enough to shoot pass throughs.
