RE: Crusader. IBO legal?

The CM Crusader not only meets IBO qualification standards for Traditional Longbow class, but is one of the bows preferred by some of the best shooters. Just ask WFL/KY, he's taken several major IBO events w/one. Are you aware that your HunterII will easily meet IBO MRU (Male Recurve Unaided) class?

Yes I have been shooting in recurve unaided class but I dont see that I will ever be able to stay with the guys shooting those Hoyte target bows with balancers gadgets all over them. To win in that class you need to average around 275-285. Edited by - K_N on 02/26/2002 10:58:48 |
RE: Crusader. IBO legal?
KN : If you look at the scores for the Trad.class on the IBO stie you will need at least that at the worlds. All 8's is the norm at the worlds.

They have used 30 targets with 300 points possible. They do use IBO classes though and the winning scores on RU have been around 275-285 and the winning scores on Male Trad are usually under 240. Most newer traditional longbows and recurves shoot about the same as far as speed and accuracy I believe, but I will change to longbow if thats what it takes to shoot wood in IBO and still have a chance of winning. |
RE: Crusader. IBO legal?
KN : 285 for 30 targets is excellent shooting , just went to the N.E. IBO indoor shoot In Springfield ,Ma. 30 targets winning recurve score was in the 260's trad. (longbow ) 240's.
Me, well just lets say I had a good time , one good thing my wife won the women's trad.class and her trophy is sitting on the TV so I can't miss it :) :) |

K_N, you said:
<BLOCKQUOTE id=quotequote:
Hmm I see some yes's and some no's. Looks like it would be kinda risky. Would hate to qualify for the world and then make the trip out to it and then not be able to shoot in my chosen class.

Incidentally, a 240 w/longbow on a 30 target course usually won't even get honorable mention at most shoots around here. Not that it isn't a respectable enough score, just that these guys here play to win & many times post as high or higher than MRU shooters. WFL/KY has been to the IBO World shoot before. As a matter of fact he placed in the top 5 last year, & I wouldn't doubt that he'll take 1st this year. He's BADA$$!! If it were me, I'd prolly take his word for it about the crusader... RE: Crusader. IBO legal?
Congrats to your wife Bill! I'm lucky too, 'cause even though she's not nearly as addicted as I am, my wife shoots w/me some. Ya gotta love THAT!!

K N,may I ask why think you have no chance to win shooting wood in recurve class ? Bill

Well maybe I should not say "No chance" but I would much rather prefer to shoot against people with equipment that at least is close to the same in performance as mine. My recurve was shooting slower and with more arc to the arrows than some of the longbow shooters that I was shooting with yet I was shooting against streamlined target bows with all the latest gadgets. Or maybe I am just looking for a good reason to buy another bow :) Edited by - K_N on 02/27/2002 11:06:33 |
RE: Crusader. IBO legal?
KN.....question....
"Yes I have been shooting in recurve unaided class but I dont see that I will ever be able to stay with the guys shooting those Hoyte target bows with balancers gadgets all over them. To win in that class you need to average around 275-285." Is that with or without 12 rings? JRW ![]() |
