newbie here

I just bought a Ben Pearson Recurve Bow off of Ebay. It is a BP-H52 43 ppounds and 28in draw. It is a beauiful bow. Does anyone know anything about this bow? What will I need as far as arrows go? I have a couple of compound, but would like to get into some more traditional shooting also. Thanks, Kin.

only thing I can tell ya is your in for a blast! Folks are going to need more specifics as to your draw and tip weight to try and give you advice on arrow selection. Also if you are going to go with woods, alums, or carbons?

Raise your right hand and repeat afer me....&quot;I am soon to be addicted with no hope for a cure&quot; <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>!

Way to Go!! First thing you have to do is have your bow checked for cracks or twisting of the limbs (I have had great luck off of ebay). Go to a local archery shop and have them set you up and this will save a lot of frustration later on. If you go to Easton's web site (sorry I son't know the address) you can probably find a chart that can help you out for you draw length and weight.

Welcome aboard

WELCOME ABOARD FROM &quot; THE DARK SIDE&quot;... I ACTUALLY SHOOT BOTH BUT PREFER A RECURVE. IT'S JUST MORE FUN , I'M NOT MUCH ON TINKERING.

Welcome!

If the bow is in good shape you will have a shooter on your hands.

These guys are right...prepare to be hooked! I'm a newbie too and I can tell you that this is an addiction. I bought a 55# Shakespeare Kaibab off ebay about a month ago and have been having a great time with it. Have fun!

Hey Clark--are you anywhere close to Herb Parson's Lake? Lost Nation Traditional Archery Club has a shoot there every so often--next one is March 16--great bunch of folks. Will be a big shoot at Twin Oaks (Clarksville) in May, I think. That one is the best I have ever been too. Hope to see you there!

I'm not sure where Herb Parson's Lake is so I can't say how far I am from there, but Clarksville is only a couple of hours from me. I'm located almost exactly halfway between Nashville and Chattanooga.

I've got a lot of practicing to do before I'm good enough to enter any shoots, but hopefully by then I won't be embarassing myself quite as much as I do now :)

Aww heck--it's all about having fun! You don't have to compete if you don't want--don't even have to keep score. Great way to get in practice and meet folks--the shoot at Lost Tribe is usually fairly small, and a great bunch of folks.
