cheaper recurves?

Does anyone have a bow suggestion for someone moving from compound to recurves? He wants to spend less then $300 on the bow. He likes my BW but don't want to lay down that much money yet.

Chek Mate recurves are about as reasonable as any bows you're gonna find. If he's really sold on Widows, Samick makes a widow copy, the Hawkeye, that sells for less than $300.

I'd suggest getting ahold of Chad at www.recurves.com & checking out a new Chekmate Falcon, way less than $300 & a heck of a bow!

BTW, email Chad as the website may not show the complete inventory of available bows.

Ewolf- I can second the Check-Mate suggestions. I bought a (base $200)Falcon with a Bubinga riser and Red Elm limbs (clear glass) last fall and haven't looked back . I had only shot compounds before, but I'm glad I switched. Less is more.

I can third the Chek-Mate suggestion. I got a Kings Pawn (basically a longer version of the Falcon), bubinga riser and red elm under clear glass. The bow shoots quiet and accurate. I'm very pleased with it and I will definitely buy another Chek-Mate when I'm in the market for another bow.

Chad let me put some fingerprints on a Hunter II at the Texas longbow championships and got me all lathered up to get one.[&:]

Have to add my vote for the ChekMates.. Have a Hunter 1, and two Atillas. By the way Chad is a great guy.. Good man to buy from.

PSE Coyote would be alow priced model that would be an easy transition bow.

OK.. I will give my two cents about My ChekMate Bow....

My Firebird is the best bow that I have every shot..

It looks a bit like one of those BW but at a third of the price and half of the weight. Chek them out you won't be sorry that you did.

And Chad is a great guy to work with. He will do you right.
