Hunter II Arrived
Well my long awaited Chek-Mate TD Hunter II arrived today. What a beauty! Shedua Riser and Zebrawood limbs. 58", 51#@28". Can't wait 'til I get a chance tomorrow to run some bare shafts thru it a see what it digests best. I only draw 26-27", so I'm betting on 28" 1916s, but we'll see. Thanks to Chad for the help.

RE: Hunter II Arrived
Congratulations Jack. My lady shoots a CM hunter II that is 51#@28" but only pulls 26" and she shoots the 28" 1916s. They fly like darts and are quick from the 45# bow. I think you're really gonna like that bow.

So it was YOU that got that bow, Jack? Chad sent me a pic, and I said send the bow to me, but he said the buyer would be mad. If I would have known it was you I would have said just send it anyways....

Yup! It was my bow. Chad said he was gonna take a picture of it. Maybe if we ask real nice, he'll post it here. I don't hava a digital camera and am too computer illiterate to post if I did have one.

RE: Hunter II Arrived
Funny, I usually think zebra wood looks like crap, but with that combo it's pretty cool. Looks like one of those bows you wouldn't want to lean against a tree and walk away from.
Very nice indeed. JRW ![]() |
RE: Hunter II Arrived
I spent 3 hours this afternoon bareshafting a bunch of different arrows. I had thought that 1916s would fly best with my draw of 26-27" out of a 51#@28" bow. But lo and behold, so far the best flight seems to be from 65-75# woodies, and either 2114s or 2213s. Still have more bareshafting to do on Tuesday because I'm still not satisfied or certain of the proper arrow length. Plus I'm still playing with nocking point. Plus I had to get the stretch out of the new string today. I thought this traditional stuff was supposed to be simple!

RE: Hunter II Arrived
Great looking bow. That zebrawood's awesome. Like JRW said, don't lean it against a tree and walk off.
Tradbow simple? Like computers made it a paperless world. Romans 8:28 |
RE: Hunter II Arrived
When I was a sophmore, a teacher tried to give us a paperless report. We just had to give him our disks with the report written on them. He couldn't get them to open so he gave us all A's. If he leaned it against a tree, I would take it.
