Favorite Broadhead
What's your favorite broadhead for wooden arrows?

RE: Favorite Broadhead
A 125 grain Ribtek did a dandy job for me on a whitetail this past season. Magnus, Ace, Stos........I like lots of different ones.

RE: Favorite Broadhead
Like Chad said, lots of great choices in broadheads today. I'm sorta partial to the cut on contact ones like Zwickey, Magnus, WW, or Snuffers. Get em sharp & put em in the right place. Most any of em will do their part if we do ours.

RE: Favorite Broadhead
I like the zwickey, but been looking at a new broadhead called an Eclipse broadhead, designed after zwickey, but taken a notch above-- harder steel and teflon coated...

RE: Favorite Broadhead
I am currently shooting Magnus 125 grain Vented, thinking of trying the Grizzly next
|
RE: Favorite Broadhead
Been using Zwickey Eskimo 125gr 2-blade heads for years and can't complain.I bought some broadhead adapters so I can glue them on the carbons used last season, too.

RE: Favorite Broadhead
zwickey, and like robinhood said i too am looking at the new eclipse
|
RE: Favorite Broadhead
Zwickey 135gr Delta for over 35yrs.
|
RE: Favorite Broadhead
zwickey eskimo's 2 blade's
|
RE: Favorite Broadhead
I think the best heads are 2 blades, and the best all around ones are the Grizzlies. I also like Zwickeys and Simmons. That provides everything from 100 grain to 190, and everything from 1 1/8" to 2" in width.

RE: Favorite Broadhead
careful on the simmons, some of them are or could be considered barbed which is illegal in most states!!!!
|
RE: Favorite Broadhead
Wensel Woodsmans and trade points.
|
RE: Favorite Broadhead
Zwickey is a good stable broadhead for Many applications.
|
RE: Favorite Broadhead
I like the 160grizzly's, they fly great for me.
|
RE: Favorite Broadhead
125g Zwickey Eskimo 2 bld.
Use them on my aluminum arras too with a tapered glue on adapter. |
RE: Favorite Broadhead
I been making my own. Tradepoints. Been practising and trying different weights and design mods. The heavier ones on a heavy shaft penetrate like crazy. So far my heaviest is 185 grains. I think I will stay in the 165 to 185 grain range for larger game and maybe in the 145 grain range for birds etc..
