LBR, You're Right!

Chad,

Two years ago I bought my first trad bow, a T/D recurve. Then just about a year ago I bought a used CM Firebird. They were both sweet shooting bows.

I've been reading and paying attention to what all of you "older", in this case that means more experienced, trad shooters have been saying. I initially laughed at your profile signature "Longbow Rules".

Then I decided to see if I could find a used Crusader. While looking, I found out that Arrowsmit had some longbows for sale. I asked him to send me some information.

He sent me an e-mail with the particulars on four bows. I asked for some specifics on a Fox reverse handle bow he was selling. His response was 5 pictures of the bow. I was hooked as soon as I saw it. I bought it without having ever held it, shot it, or even looked at it firsthand.

I can now humbly say, Chad, you are right, Longbow Rules! I gave the Firebird to my son, Reylamb, for his 30th birthday. Now he can go through the exercise of trying a few bows and finding out that LBR was right all along!

I want a longbow now too. I have been looking hard at the Adcocks the past couple days. I think that is what I might go with when I finally sell the wheelie/get some money. I am gonna need alot after I get through with all those options! I can't decide what woods either. I like them all!
Tossing around cocobolo for the riser with maybe Juniper or curly maple for the limbs. Might even get the Tonkin cane and carbon, but I really don't want to see either. I want the sleeve takedown, cause I want it to still look like a longbow, yet be travelable. Ahh geez.....it sucks not having money.

Yep, I agree with ya Bill. I thought I'd never give up shooting them recurves. Then when I bought the Don Brown LB I liked it and started thinking about a glass backed bow and all the time Chad and Dan were waving them danged Crusaders in my face. The rest is history. Now my lady is thinking about getting one eventually. She really likes the smoothness and the feel of the Crusader so maybe she'll order herself one. Or better yet, maybe she'll let me order another bow and take mine.

Mike,

Good luck! It sounds like an excellent opportunity to buy an anniversary present, for yourself of course!

Be glad you have a wife that shares and understands your bowshooting and hunting yearnings. My wife doesn't understand me spending all that time practicing, going to the woods, and coming home without a shot. Of course, I don't understand her going shopping, spending all day doing it, hitting every store, and not buying a thing!

Oh Well! I'm going the other way. I'm lovin' my CM hunter. My longbows are on the wall. I'll be using the recurve on a pig hunt next weekend. Dick
