Received Test ARRAs Yesterday
 

I received my test aRRAs in the mail yesterday. I am going to the bowshop tomorrow to do some paper testing and to shoot, shoot shoot so I can determine which set my Fox longbow bow likes the best.

I've got a set of 3 50# spine and 3 55# spine to test. Once I determine which the bow likes the best, I'll order a dozen aRRAs with broadheads, field points and judo points on them.

I've got to get ready for turkey season which starts April 1st. I found a ton of turkey while deerhunting on a GMA in December. I've never shot one yet, but I'm certainly going to give it a good effort!

Sounds great Bill! Those folks @ RRA are quick aren't they? <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> As for the turkeys, be ready to do some walking bro. They won't always use the same territory during Spring as in Fall/Winter...man they're fun to chase w/a tradbow tho! (Don't ask how many I've killed..LOL!!)

You are gonna love chasen Toms with a stick, no doubt about it. I've been doing some scouting and found a large flock that's been moving in the general direction of the reservoir so will be chasen them there maybe. Yes, I found them to be very responsive and they shipped two days earlier than promised. I shot about 30 times in the backyard this evening. The arrows are marked 51#, 53#, 54#, 55#, 57# & 58# spine, respectively.

The first group I shot this evening was at 9 yards and I shot all 6 arrows. They grouped in the upper half and center third of the heart on my bag target. It was a tight group.


The bow seems to like the 57# & 58# aRRAs a bit better than the others. But, I'm going to the bowshop tomorrow to do some paper shooting and a whole lot more target shooting to make sure.

When I get it tuned, I'll be ordering a dozen of their premium arrows!

I went to the Archery Shop today and paper tuned the Fox longbow. The paper tuning verified what my preliminary shooting in the backyard had already told me.

The 58# arrow was a perfect hole. The 57# was very, very slightly upper left. The remainder, 51#, 53# 54# and 55# were varying degrees of left and up. The worst one was up about 1/2&quot;, which I have settled for in the past when shooting a compound!

I practiced for several hours off and on with the 57# & 58# arrows. It got to the point that I was hitting what I was aiming at on the 20 yard targets. On the 10 yeard target, I was hitting POA from the beginning.
